This is a weekly go to for me. I absolutely love the grilled chicken and veggies. Their fried fish and shrimp are amazing too. I'm not always a fan of Mac salad but theirs is always on spot.

Favorite Hawaiian spot in the East Valley located next to Swig. Their Katsu is always perfectly crispy and bbq beef perfectly tender. Staff is always friendly and fast.

One of my favorite things about going to Hawaii is getting a plate lunch. Whether it's Katsu chicken, bbq beef or my favorite, short ribs. I love it all. Sadly Tucson area Hawaiian restaurant scene is non existent now so I was really excited when I came across Big Island BBQ on a recent trip to the Valley. I ordered the chicken & beef combo which came with Katsu chicken and BBQ beef served on some steamed cabbage and broccoli with a healthy portion of white rice and macaroni salad. The portions were very good sized and each meat had a very good flavor but a tad bit dry, but the sauces fixed that right up. The woman helping at the counter was very friendly and when the food came out she told me there was a couple sauces in the bag but if I needed more to feel free to come up and grab some extras. In addition to my meal that I planned to eat there, I also ordered a spam Musubi which I told her would be to go. When my combo came out she told me the Musubi would be out in a few minutes so it would be hot and fresh when I left. I thought that was very thoughtful. This is one of those times I wish Yelp would allow 1/2 stars since the food was really good but not a perfect 5. However the friendliness of the counter person and the size of the portions tipped the scales to a 5

Ordered 14. Big Island BBQ Mix & 17. Chicken & Kalua Pork Combo. We really enjoyed all the meats, especially the kalua pork! The amount of food for the combo and taste was worth the price. It's a place you order at the and we got it to go but there are seating areas. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be back again and again!!! Thanks

The inside wasn't that great looking. But the food definitely makes up for that. I got my order to go so it didn't really matter how the inside looks. But figured I would add this for people who want to dine in. The pork was very moist and delicious. It had a slightly sweetness to it. The macaroni salad was alright. The chicken was cooked nice as well. The beef was slightly overdone but still not bad. The service was also great and the staff was friendly. Overall Taste: 7.5/10 Ambiance: 3/10 Value: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Speed: 8/10 I would recommend getting the pork. That was my favorite out of the three meats.
