I grew up coming here! The sandwiches are the best in San Francisco. Always gotta do a Turkey club on Dutch crunch toasted with everything on it with extra jalapeños. Service is fast! Very easy ordering and the workers are so nice. They accept credit cards and cash here. There are options to add a bag of chips and drinks.

Ordered the tri tip sandwich, asked for no jalapeños and no horse radish...although they left the jalapeños and horse radish in the sandwich I just removed the jalapeños and took a chance on the horse radish and lemme tell you that sandwich was delicious!!! Can't wait to go again and try something new or even get the tri tip again. Friendly customer service, would definitely come back!

The Best sandwich we've had in a long time! Good quality meats and cheeses. Buns and bread are fresh. There are three sizes and you can add "extra meat". Maybe a little wait. Worth the trip! Friendly service. We will be back.

This spot comes highly regarded by those who have eaten here and also many who've heard of the folklore legend of Roxie's but haven't gone here yet and keep talking about wanting to try it. So... I tried it. The business area of San Jose Avenue near Balboa Park is booming and we were in the area having Ice Cream @ Balboa Ice Cream, down the street and wanted a meal beyond the dessert we came to the area for and Roxie Food Center was PERFECT The service was super friendly. The sandwich was made to order and both fast and fresh. The prices are on par for what sandwiches cost in Y2KXXIII (2023) and way way way better than any sandwich chain by leaps and bounds. The quality and quantity is all here. Solid meat to bread ratios you'd never ever find at a chain sandwich shop like Subway, Jersey Mike's, etc. and it's real deli quality sandwiches here. Accept none other and you'll be challenged to find a better place than this. I had a Pastrami and it was hot, lean, moist, tender, juicy and flavorful.

A San Francisco relic, Roxie is a delicatessen that has been around since the 1960s. It's well-known for its sandwiches so we got two small sandwiches and one medium sandwich. The eponymous Roxie Special, which we ordered with provolone instead of cheddar, is a classic Italian sandwich like something my mom would make for me at a family gathering. I found it to be a little plain for my tastes but the salt and Mayo really add to the salami, ham, and mortadella - allegedly it comes with artichoke but neither I nor my friend tasted it. This was his favorite sandwich. Next we split the Tony special with bbq tri tip and horseradish with cheddar cheese. This one was my favorite because it had the perfect amount of bread and the tri tip was well marinated in bbq sauce. It helped we got the small to split so we weren't overwhelmed by the large portion to complement the intense tastes Finally, had the Yami Corned Beef sandwich which was the closest thing to a Rueben they have on the menu. I really enjoyed the meat which was as well roasted and classically smothered in sauerkraut and cheese. This one was by far my favorite of the three sandwiches we ordered. It was a great small introduction to San Francisco history. I would definitely go again and sit in the grass by the park.
