Food was delicious and we had a great time! However, it was VERY loud. Although I have some hearing loss and that is a special problem for me, all my party agreed it was hard to hear. If it had better acoustics, it would have gotten a 5.

excellent and authentic (I came with a friend visiting from Mexico, she wanted Mexican food confirmed) and inexpensive place on 8th in downtown Oakland (an area that's revitalized) everything was good, you can order typical taqueria-style. I had two fish tacos which were great. frescas change daily. you order at the counter and get a number flag and they bring it to the table definitely recommended

This is not your hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint, although those can be delicious too. Tamarindo Antojeria is a step up or two from that while still feeling casual. The interior is very pretty and the old movies playing on the wall of the main dining room remind me of Foreign Cinema in the Mission, but for a fraction of the cost. We arrived here looking for snacks more than a full meal, and shared guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and shrimp tacos. All were memorable and definitely worth repeat visits in future. Coc

I placed a medium sized order for a company lunch. Everything was ready in 15 minutes and they even gave me a box to put the bags of food in so I could walk it back to my office. Mostly everyone ordered burritos, and since I'm on keto, I ordered the taco lite (lettuce shell tacos). I had 2 steak and 1 carnitas tacos. They come with beans (I forgot to ask to remove the beans for keto), salsa fresca, and a sprinkle of cotija. My lettuce was crispy and fresh and both meats were tender and seasoned well. The salsa fresca of course added a refreshing touch and the cotija a nice zing. My entree came with 2 salsas in little plastic cups, green and red. Both were good and relatively mild in heat. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. This will be my new spot for keto friendly tacos! And of course, I wouldn't mind trying some of the other food when I finally get off keto. I also snuck in a few chips...so good!

TAMARIND IS MY FAVORITE and they praise it well Right on 8th, this cute Mexican restaurant is serving up delicious and juicy bites. Very accessible by Bart, and parking didn't seem awful either. The interior has got to be my favorite quality about this place, which I don't mean as a testament to the food!! It's just so cute! High ceilings, bright pink walls, and cute dolls on display just gives her a fun, airy and sun-kissed feel. They have two rooms one mainly for lunch and I assume both for dinner service. It's very spacious with a couple communal tables so I wouldn't be scared to come with a party of 8. I had the norteño burrito with pollo asado and a tamarind margarita. Let me tell you, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Burrito had a nice crisp to the tortilla and I could tell each ingredient was thought after and prepared with care. The chicken was brilliant and juicy, and I ate the whole thing! It's a rare for me because I'm a tiny human. The margarita wasn't scared to be hot and the tamarind, of course, is the perfect partner in crime. The rim had a tamarind mix too that wasn't too salty which I appreciated. I will definitely return to check out their dinner menu!

I really enjoyed visiting this place the vibe seemed very nice and nicely decorated. The waitress was very sweet and accommodated as I placed my order. I really wanted a burrito which was not on the menu but the chef made it for me regardless which was very nice. We were the only two customers in the restaurant until our order arrived. Approx three other parties arrived thereafter. I wanted some salsa and waiving down the waitress was tough as she was at the bar making drinks. Then I waived down the Chef who helped. This place appears to be very upscale but could work on the checking back on customers more frequently. Although the waitress was very sweet and I liked her energy. It was. Difficult getting anyone's attention in this small place. My absolute favorite was the cheliquilles hope I spelled that correctly. The taco and burritos were good, nice combo of flavors but not a big fan of the flavor of the chicken and texture.
